Mainstream Science is Finally Catching Up to Energy Healing!

For those of us who have spent decades working at the intersection of ancient wisdom and modern healing, this has been a remarkable season. Two resources recently landed in my world that I simply had to share with you.

The first is a stunning piece from The New York Times Magazine — a deep look at the interstitium, the fluid-filled network of pathways discovered between the skin and fascia.

Scientists mapping how tattoo ink travels through the body have inadvertently illuminated a system that mirrors the ch'i life-force energy meridian pathways of Classical Chinese Medicine. The anatomy has always been there, and Western science is now seeing it.

The 2nd is a free podcast and documentary series called Phenomena Healing. What caught my attention: It reported about rigorous studies at MD Anderson Cancer Center — one of the world's leading cancer research institutions. They documented measurable effects of energy healing both on cancer cells in petri dishes and in human patients receiving integrative energetic treatments alongside conventional care.

This is not fringe. This is one of the most respected research hospitals in the world taking these questions seriously — and publishing findings.

What both of these point to is something I've witnessed across 45 years of practice: our bodies are not merely mechanical. They are intelligent, responsive, and in constant energetic dialogue with ourselves and the world around us. Science is beginning — slowly, imperfectly — to develop language for what healers have always known.

Those of us who have lived this — as practitioners and as patients — have long carried the knowing in our bones. But for many people, scientific backing is what opens the door. And that door is opening wider now.

I find this so encouraging, and I hope more people find their way to integrative care as these bridges between worlds become visible.
